“In a country with huge amount of land and human resources it is a shame for government for being unable to control the soaring onion prices. Today it is onion and tomorrow it will be rice and pulses and so the governments should act immediately in controlling the prices of essential commodities,” said Seeman, while addressing reporters at Chennai airport.
The price of onions had been increasing steadily in the recent days and has touched Rs 200 per kilogram in retail market. In the coming days the price of onions is set to increase and is expected to touch Rs 250 per kilogram in retail market.
The state government too had taken several steps to control the rise of onion prices but the opposition parties continue to criticise the state and Union governments for not containing the onion prices. Seeman said that if the price rise continued India will become a desert.
“Already there is no water and we are forced to buy water at higher prices. If prices of all the essential commodities increase the land will not be suitable for not just humans but for other living beings to survive which will turn the land into a desert,” said Seeman.
Seeman welcomes Hyderabad encounter Meanwhile, when asked about Telangana encounter Seeman said, “Only deaths will bring fear into the minds of men from committing heinous crime against women. At least from now the boys should be thought that if they continue to stalk or commit crime against women they will be put to death.”
When asked about the comments of actor Raghava Lawrence that the comments of Seeman are harmful for the country, he replied, “I am speaking for my country and for the people. Lawrence might be speaking to satisfy his fans and I am not concerned about his comments.”
