Speaking to reporters here, he said that the Tamil Nadu officials visited the reservoirs without even informing the Secretary of Irrigation Department and have taken note of the water storage levels.

He said that they also visited the Hemavathi dam, it has water available for just 15 days.

There was shortage of water in the dams in the state.  Even the Central team did not visit our dams, but Tamil Nadu officials team have visited without informing the state government, he added. With the monsoon getting delayed and the threat of drought looming large in the region, the water level in almost all the dams have reached the rock bottom.

Given these circumstances, Karnataka has categorically told the Cauvery Water Management Authority. Hence no question of water release to Tamil Nadu, he said.
