When Hrithik ‘hijacked’ events at city star hotel

It looked as if the crowd has turned up to participate in some event or collect some freebies, but turned up to be a fan frenzy. The women-majority crowd, ranging from college girls to middle-aged housewives, had come with a hope of catching a glimpse of their favourite star – who is famed for his chiselled physique and fondness for displaying six-pack abs – and if possible click some photos or even take selfies. The craze was so much that some other events that were supposed to take place at the hotel also felt his presence, with some of the women giving their official engagements a go. One such friend, who was at the hotel for a different event, coaxed this reporter too to take her along to take a selfie with the star. It took some coaxing with the actor’s PR personnel to take the friend along. However, just before the actor showed up, this friend received a flurry of calls asking for a laptop – that of a PowerPoint presentation for that important meeting she was part of – and she had forgotten. Hotel staff later clarified that this was not an isolated event during such occasions.
