The complainant, a 42-yearold woman now staying in Pallikaranai, said that she met Santhosh Kumar in 2011 when she came to DMK headquarters from Erode with her husband. Both had exchanged contact numbers and developed a friendship.
“When my husband came to know about our relationship, Santhosh Kumar asked me to file for divorce and come to Chennai. After I came to the city, Santhosh Kumar was transferred to Ulundurpet and then to Delhi. Whenever he came to Chennai, he used to stay with me. He took Rs 6.5 lakh for a real estate deal. Then, he took another Rs 4.6 lakh and 27 sovereigns saying that he needs to give it to his superiors for promotion.
In the year 2016, he forced me to register our marriage even before I got my divorce,” she stated.
When the complainant came to know about his relationship with other women and confronted him on June 5, 2018, he escaped with Rs 1.3 lakh, six sovereigns and three wrist watches. “When I called him that night, a woman claiming to be his wife answered the call. Later, he contacted me and threatened not to lodge any complaints against him. But now I have decided to lodge a complaint,” she said in her petition filed at Pallikaranai police station.
It may be recalled that Santhosh Kumar had attempted suicide over personal issues on June 6.
