CHENNAI: Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay’s car was briefly stopped at a traffic signal in Neelankarai on Monday (Feb 2) morning to facilitate the movement of Chief Minister M K Stalin’s convoy, leading to a short period of commotion in the area.
According to a Daily Thanthi report, Vijay was travelling from his residence in Neelankarai to Panaiyur to attend the party’s third anniversary celebrations at the TVK headquarters. He was reportedly travelling in a blue Maruti Swift when his vehicle was halted at the Neelankarai main road signal by traffic police.
At the same time, Chief Minister M K Stalin was en route to Siruseri to inaugurate the SIPCOT Eco Park. Owing to his Z-Plus security cover, vehicles approaching the route of his convoy were temporarily stopped by traffic authorities. Vijay’s car was among the vehicles held up at the signal.
Traffic movement resumed only after the Chief Minister’s convoy crossed the junction, after which Vijay’s vehicle and other stopped vehicles were allowed to proceed.
