Based on a tip-off, the officers at Chennai airport checked these passengers, including one who hailed from Kerala, and found gold concealed inside suitcase and hand luggage, footwear, and on person, said the Customs officials. Gold was in the form of jewellery like rings, bangles and pendants, and also as ingots and thin foils. The five were detained and further inquiries are on, sources said.
