    Route diversions in November for Chennai-Northeast trains

    Railway authorities have advised passengers to check the NTES and IRCTC portals for real-time updates before commencing their journey.

    CHENNAI: The Eastern Railway has notified diversions of several long-distance trains connecting Chennai with the Northeast in November due to signalling and yard remodelling works at West Bengal's Durgapur from November 10 to 23.

    1. Train no. 15629 Tambaram–Silghat Town Nagaon Express will depart at 6.40 pm on November 3, 10 and 17 and run via Asansol, Andal and Sainthia.

    2. In the return direction, train no. 15630 will depart Silghat Town at 10.50 am on November 7, 14 and 21, and will be diverted via Sainthia, Andal and Asansol.

    3. The Tambaram–New Tinsukia Express (train no. 15929), leaving Tambaram at 6.40 pm on November 6, 13 and 20, will take the Asansol, Andal and Sainthia route.

    4. In the return direction, train no. 15930 will depart New Tinsukia at 6.30 am on November 3, 10 and 17, and will run via Sainthia, Andal and Asansol.

    5. Train No. 22611 Dr MGR Chennai Central–New Jalpaiguri Superfast Express, scheduled to depart at 10.45 hrs on November 5, 12 and 19, will also be diverted through Asansol, Andal and Sainthia.

    6. The return service, train no. 22612 leaving New Jalpaiguri at 10.05 pm on November 7, 14 and 21, will run via Sainthia, Andal and Asansol.
