MADURAI: A team comprising officials National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and NPCIL, HQ visited Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP) in Tirunelveli district to take stock of emergency preparedness and response plan at the level of plant, site and offsite. According to a statement, the team visited the Environment Survey Lab (ESL) as well as various parts of the KKNPP site. T Premkumar, Site Director, KKNPP and senior officials of the plant briefed the team about the emergency preparedness and response plan including offsite emergency exercises conducted in public domain so far by KKNPP for effectiveness of preparedness to deal with any possible nuclear events.
