The complainant, a contractor of the electric crematorium in Injambakkam, approached the DVAC with a complaint in which he claimed that he had submitted bills for payment for cremating 233 bodies atÂ
Injambakkam, to the sanitary inspector, Ward 196, Zone 15, Sholinganallur, but the sanitary inspector, Vigneswaran demanded Rs 5,000 as bribe for passing the bills. Following the complaint, a trap was laid by the DVAC when Vigneswaram was caught receiving the bribe amount and was then arrested.
