A division bench comprising Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice P Rajamanickam, who held a special sitting on Wednesday to hear the plea moved by the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in this regard, sought for a status report by January 22.
Following statutory summons, the Director General of Police and Commissioner of Police, Chennai, were present. Appearing on their behalf, Advocate General Vijay Narayan submitted that the police would initiate appropriate action and the action taken on the complaint lodged by the Bar council would also be made known to the court.
