Ayodhya dispute: Deity Ram Lalla given ownership of 2.77 acre land, says SC

The Supreme Court on Saturday directed allotment of an alternative land to Muslims to build new mosque, while giving ownership to Deity Ram Lalla of the 2.77 acre land.The apex court also asked the centre to frame scheme within 3 months and set up a trust for construction of a temple.

After dismissing the petitions of Shia Waqf Board and Nirmohi Akhara, the Supreme Court announced that the Babri mosque was not built on vacant land.

The petition of Nirmohi Akhara, which claimed the management authority or the title of the Ayodhya land, was also dismissed by the Supreme Court. The Top Court held that Nirmohi Akhara's suit is barred by limitation, not a Shebait or devotee of deity Ram Lalla.
