CENTAC to implement EWS 10 per cent reservation
The 10 per cent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) for admission in educational institutions here will be implemented from the current academic year by enhancing the seats, Education Secretary-cum-Chairman of CENTAC A Anbarasu said.

Releasing the information brochure for admission into diploma courses in Polytechnic colleges in Union Territory last evening, Anbarasu said that the notification in this regard from the government is awaited for setting the process in motion.Â
The Department of Higher Education and Health Department will examine and move proposals to the government, he added. Admission to various courses through the CENTAC will follow the same pattern of centralised applications to various courses as per the choice of students. The SSLC or HSC registration number of the applicant needs to be provided which will auto fetch all details of the students, including marks secured and it need not be entered manually, Anbarasu said. Â
It will be applicable for students who have passed out from Tamil Nadu Board of Education and Kerala Board of Education, who constitute 90 per cent of the applicants. Anbarasu added that students who have passed out from other boards will have to upload all details manually.
