Talking to reporters here, Narayansamy detailed the Sabarimala issue and said that it is no way related to Puducherry, even though religious sentiments are there.
He said the BJP taking up the issue for political advantages could not be accepted and added it is the duty of the state government to maintain law and order.
The Chief Minister added that the government will initiate firm action against the BJP leaders and cadre without any discrimination if they tried to take law and order into their hands. He called upon the people not to support the bandh.
Meanwhile, VCK general secretary Ravikumar said that it is not proper on the part of the BJP to organise a bandh in Puducherry on Sabarimala issue on Monday when Karaikal region is reeling under the devastation caused by Cyclone Gaja.
He urged the industrialists to donate liberally for the relief works and with their help only the people could be rehabilitated.
