Participation time allocated for parties in no-confidence motion debate

In a major move, N Chandrababu Naidu led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on July 18 moved a  no-confidence motion against the Central Government which joined by various other parties later.

Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan accepted the no-confidence motion moved by opposition parties, including Congress, NCP and TDP on the same. The debate has been held in the Lok Sabha, and the much awaited trust voting is taking place today. 

Congress members Mallikarjun Kharge, KC Venugopal, and NCP’s Tariq Anwar moved the motion over mob lynching and atrocities against Dalits, TDP MPs Kesineni Srinivas and Thota Narasimhan moved the no-confidence motion over the Centre refusing to grant special category status to Andhra.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged political parties to utilise maximum time available in Parliament's monsoon session and said the government is ready to debate on any issue in the house.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) will initiate the debate on it in the Lok Sabha today and it has been allocated 13 minutes by the speaker. Parties have been allotted time to participate in the debate in the Lok Sabha. The BJP, the ruling party, has 3 hours 33 minutes and Congress party has 38 minutes. 29 minutes to Digg third largest party, the Trinamool Congress, 27 minutes, 15 minutes to the Biju Janata Dal, Shiv Sena's time is devoted to the 14 minutes.

Congress, the main opposition party, has been allocated 38 minutes to present its views on the motion. Other opposition parties such as the AIADMK, Trinamool Congress (TMC), Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) have been allocated 29 minutes, 27 minutes, 15 minutes and nine minutes respectively. 

The ruling BJP, which enjoys a majority in the House, has been given 3 hours and 33 minutes in the debate, which is scheduled for seven hours.
