Woman and five minors drown in village pond in two separate incidents
As many as six persons including five minors were drowned in two separate tragic incidents in Gajapati and Khorda districts in Odisha. In the first incident a woman and her two minor sons were drowned in a pond at Garabandha village under Gosani Block in Gajapati district on Tuesday night.

In the second incident three minor girls were drowned in a pond at Boria Sahi under Badakul Panchayat of Balugan block in Khorda district on Wednesday.
Sources said one Banitri Sahukar along with her sons Suban (12) and Om (10) had gone to a pond near their house on Tuesday night. While the mother had gone to attend nature's call, the two children went to the pond to have a bath and slipped into the pond water.
The mother hearing the screaming of her two sons rushed to the pond and tried to save them but in the process she was also drowned in the pond.
Later, all the three bodies were retrieved from the pond and ent to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.
Three minor girls were drowned while taking bath in a village pond at Boria Sahi under Badakul Panchayat of Balugan block in Khorda district. Sources said while taking bath two of the girls slipped into deep water and the other girl while trying to save them was also drowned.
The girls were rescued by the villagers and taken to the nearby hospital where the doctors declared all of them brought dead.
