Train services resume in Nagercoil-Trivandrum section

The train services at Kuzhithurai in Nagercoil-Trivandrum section have been resumed after it was affected following an agitation by the fishermen communities in protest against the Government's failure in tracing the missing fishermen after the Cyclone Ockhi lashed the region last week.

The fishermen picketed the Kuzhithurai railway yesterday affecting the train services. After discussion with the fishermen, led by parish priests, train services have be resumed, railway sources said on Friday.

The Kanniyakumari-Chennai Egmore Express on December 7 was partially cancelled between Kanniyakumari and Nagercoil. This train was further rescheduled to leave Nagercoil at 01:30 hrs on December 8.

The Nagercoil-Mangalore Ernad Express was partially cancelled between Nagercoil-Kollam on December 8. It resumed journey from Kollam Jn at 04:35 hrs on December 8.

The Nagercoil-Mangalore Parasuram Express was partially cancelled between Nagercoil-Trivandrum on December 8. It started from Thiruvananthapuram central at 06:10 hrs on December 8.

The Punalur-Madurai Passenger is short terminated at Thiruvananthapuram central on December 7. The Madurai-Punalur passenger is partially cancelled between Nagercoil Trivandrum and hence the train will be short terminated at Nagercoil on December 8.
