Gujarat CM Rupani extends good wishes to all candidates for 1st phase of polling
As the curtains fell on the last day of withdrawing nominations for the first phase of polls on December 9, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani extended his good wishes to all the candidates in fray for Gujarat assembly polls.

"As today was the last of withdrawing nominations, I convey my best wishes to all the candidates in fray for Gujarat Assembly Election. Let us all contest in good spirit and uphold democratic virtues which the framers our constitution envisaged. Good Luck!," Mr Rupani tweeted on Friday night.
A total of 89 seats would go to the polls in the first phase on December 9. The remaining assembly constituencies will hold elections on December 14.
In the first phase poll, 89 assembly constituencies to which elections will be held fall under 19 of the 33 districts in the state.
The assembly segments to which polls will be held are Kutch: 6 seats, Surendranagar: 5 seats, Morbi : 3 seats, Rajkot: 8 seats, Jamnagar: 5 seats, Dwaraka: 2 seats, Porbunder: 2 seats, Junagad: 2 seats, Gir-Somnath: 4 seats Amreli: 5 seats, Aravalli: 3 seats, Surat: 16 seats, Bhavnagar: 7 seats, Gota: 2 seats, Narmada: 2 seats Tapi: 2 seats, Dangs: 1 seat, Navsari: 4 seats and Valsad: 5 seats.
Among top guns, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will seek re-election from Rajkot West constituency while state BJP chief Jitubhai Vaghani is contesting from Bhavnagar West.
Mr Rupani is pitted against Indranil Rajguru, Congress MLA from Rajkot (East), - who shifted to Rajkot (West) to take on the Chief Minister.
Gujarat Congress chief Arjun Modhwadia is contesting from Porbander.
