Woman caught stealing new-born baby

According to police, Mamta, a resident of Damadarpur area in the district, had delivered baby girl on Friday. Her mother-in-law, who was attending on her in the hospital, was taking care of the child.

On Saturday, Mamta's mother-in-law got busy with some errand. Taking advantage of the situation, a woman, identified as Manju from Agra, picked up the baby and attempted to flee. However, Manju's mother-in-law raised an alarm and onlookers present at the scene caught the woman and handed her over to police.

The baby was restored to her mother.
