Varanasi court to hear complaint against Kamal
A court here will on Saturday hear a complaint against actor Kamal Haasan for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Hindus with his recent remark that “right-wing groups can’t deny existence of Hindu terrorism”.
Varanasi
The decision to hear the complaint was taken by the court of the additional chief judicial magistrate (sixth) on Friday, lawyer Kamlesh Chandra Tripathi, who moved the plea, said. The court will hear the complaint on November 4, he said.
The complaint has accused Haasan of hurting religious sentiments of the Hindus by making the “inflamatory and derogatory remark of Hindu terrorism”. It has sought a directive asking the actor to refrain from making such a remark given the public following he has. This remark has “deeply hurt” the sentiments of scores of people following Hindu religion, it added.
Prakash Raj attacks those who ‘terrorise’ in name of religion
Southern star Prakash Raj on Friday lashed out at those who “terrorise” in the name of religion, culture and morality, raising the issues of moral policing, lynching “on the slightest doubt of cow slaughter” and trolling. He did not take any names in his Twitter post that comes a day after his colleague Kamal Haasan hit out at “Hindu right-wingers”. “If instilling fear in the name of religion, culture, morality is not terrorising, then what is it #just asking,” Raj said on Twitter and posted a lengthy message addressed to “whomsoever it may concern”.
