Delhi on high alert ahead of Dera chief's sentencing on Monday

Ahead of on Monday's sentencing of Dera Sacha Sauda chiefGurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a rape case, Delhi has been put on high alert andthe police have heightened vigil.
Madhur Verma, Delhi Police's Public Relations Officer, saidadditional forces have been deployed in sensitive areas and senior officers arekeeping a tight vigil.
Extra measures like deployment of Special Weapons AndTactics (SWAT) teams and reserve forces were taken. Flag marches were conductedin some areas, including northeast Delhi, police said.
A high alert was sounded in the national capital on Fridaynight which continued to remain in force today with senior police officers,accompanied by reserve forces, patrolling different areas.

The Dera head has been lodged in a makeshift jail in Rohtaksince his conviction and the quantum of punishment will be pronounced on Monday.
