Frantic search at Itarsi Station after bomb threat
A joint search is being conducted by local police, the Railway Police Force and the Government Railway Police.
A joint police team carried out frantic searches of the Itarsi Railway Station this morning after an anonymous caller issued a bomb threat, police said.
"The anonymous caller telephoned the Police Control Room and informed that a bomb was planted at the station. Immediately, an alert was issued. The caller's mobile phone has been switched off since," said Itarsi Town Inspector Ramsnehi Chouhan.
A joint search is being conducted by local police, the Railway Police Force and the Government Railway Police.
An anti-bomb disposal squad is also present at the railway station. More than 250 trains, carrying nearly 1.25 lakh passengers, pass through the Itarsi Station every day.
