Jagan under fire for ‘shoot Chandrababu Naidu’ remark
Opposition YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's controversial comment that “no wrong if Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is shot” created a political furore as ruling TDP leaders came to the streets, burning effigies and holding protest demonstrations across the state on Friday.
Jagan Reddy while addressing a public meeting, organised as part of by-election campaign in Nandyala town in Kurnool district on Thursday evening, had said, “I feel like there is no wrong, if Chief Minister is shot by making him stand on the road”.
Taking strong exception to the comment, Dy Chief Minister, Ministers, MLAs and TDP senior leaders vehemently condemned the statement and alleged that Jagan Reddy lost his mental balance and he is undeserved to be Opposition leader.
Talking to the media at the Secretariat on Friday, Deputy Chief Minister- cum-Home Minister N Chinarajappa alleged that Jagan Reddy is inciting “faction and caste politics”.
He urged the Election Commission to take his seditious comments into consideration and initiate action against him. Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy slammed that the voters would shoot the YSRCP in the form of voting for the TDP in the ensuing by-election.
