    Bodies of five murdered youths found in Hooghly

    The bodies of five youths with multiple wounds were found in two separate sites, including Chinsura in West Bengal's Hooghly district, creating horror and panic among the local people, reports reaching at state police headquarters said.

    While bodies of four youths stacked together in a low lying drain of a paddy field were discovered at Dakshin Shimla of Chinsura town, another mutilated body was found at Bibirhat in Chandannagar where Jagadhatri Puja, a four-day festival, was being celebrated.

    Police believe that the victims might have been murdered elsewhere and the bodies dumped in the paddy field's drain.

    Of the four bodies, throat of two were tied with cloths and one's head was smashed.

    A quilt was recovered from the murder scene.

    Eye-witnesses said all the murdered youths were well dressed and wearing shoes. 

    All the bodies, which were sent for postmortem, remained unidentified so far.

    One of the local people, who first saw the bodies stacked one after another, informed the local DSP, who is investigating the crime. 

    The incident affected the local people on a day when the Jagadhatri goddess would be immersed in the Hooghly river.
