Jawan, a woman killed in Pakistan firing on LoC

A jawan attained martyrdom in Tarkundi area of Rajouri in unprovoked firing by the Pakistan, defence spokesman here said. He said that a woman also died as Pakistan shelled forward villages in Balakote sector of Poonch. Meanwhile, a mother and daughter got seriously injured in cross border firing in Balakote sector of Mendhar in Poonch.

A woman identified as Rashida Bi, resident of Gohlad died while her daughter, Naazma Akhter got wounded. Earlier in the afternoon, two women from a village close to the LoC suffered splinter injuries while a jawan retaliating to the cross-border firing also got wounded as Pakistan again violated the ceasefire by firing unprovoked at forward Indian posts on the LoC in a forward village of Balakote sector of Mendhar in Poonch.
