Going Viral: Smriti Irani’s no-drama visit to cafe a hit on social media
Smriti Irani seems to be at the receiving end of a lot of social media love at the moment. First, it was her #IWearHandloom campaign that became a huge success online, and only days later, a picture of the Textiles Minister ordering coffee at a Starbucks outlet won hearts all over again.
Chennai
Facebook user Nimish Dubey recently snapped and posted a picture of Irani, 40, waiting in the coffee shop queue, lauding the politician for her “no fuss, no entourage, no security” approach.
According to the post, Irani is a regular at the cafe and always stands in line, places her order politely and subsequently leaves without hassle. “There are not too many ministers like that,” Dubey said on Facebook.
Social media was equally quick to share the Facebook post. And the retweets and good words kept coming. While one user wrote, “She is Union textile minister @smritiirani who was waiting for her order in Starbucks. Simplicity at its peak.,” another said, @smritiirani madam I like the way you behaved at Starbucks. So called VVIPs should take lessons from you. India needs more VVIPs like you!”
