In a notice to Dikshit, the ACB said, “It appears that you are acquainted with facts and circumstances of case and are required to join investigation.” According to ACB chief MK Meena, the officers concerned along with Dikshit, have been issued notices in this regard and the matter was now under investigation.
“The Anti-Corruption Bureau registered a case in 2014. The Delhi Jal Board had bought 2.5 lakh water meters and there were allegations that proper tendering had not taken place. The tendering conditions were also changed so that personal companies can be benefited. We will question Dikshit on the appropriate date,” Meena told media persons here.
Two notices have been sent to Dikshit. In the first notice, she has been asked to join the investigation and in the second one, she has been asked to inform the agency about the appropriate time and place for the questioning to take place, sources said. The investigative agency was asked by the AAP-led government in the national capital to investigate the irregularities in allotting work to a private company at DJB’s Bhagirathi water treatment plant in North-East Delhi, due to which the government received a loss of Rs 158 crore.
In another case, a complainant alleged financial irregularities in the purchase of four lakh automatic meter reader (AMR) and non-AMR water meters with an intention to benefit one particular company due to which government suffered a loss of around Rs 150 crore. However, Dikshit said she had not received the notice and will decide the future course of action, when she will get the same.
