Delhi girl tops CBSE Class 12 with 99.4%

Sukriti Gupta, a girl student from Delhi, has topped the CBSE Class 12 board exams by scoring 99.4 per cent.

With a pass percentage of 88.58, girls once again outperformed boys in the CBSE class 12 examination, the results of which were declared on Saturday. Boys recorded a pass percentage of 78.85. 

Sukriti Gupta, a student of Montfort School, Ashok Vihar, scored 497 marks out of 500. At second position is Palak Goel from Tagore Public School in Kurukshetra, Haryana with 496 marks. The third position has been shared by Somy Uppal from St Theresa’s Convent School in Haryana’s Karnal and Ajish Sekar from PSBB Senior Secondary School, Chennai. They both have scored 495 marks.

Region-wise, South India has done better than others with the overall pass percentage of Thiruvanathapuram Region at 97.61 per cent being the highest followed by Chennai which has a pass percentage of 92.63. 

Overall pass percentage this year is 83.05 which is an improvement over last year’s 82 per cent. A total of 10,65,179 candidates had registered this year, a 2.38 percent increase over last year. 

Ajish Sekar, a student of Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan school at KK Nagar was the topper from Tamil Nadu by securing 495 marks out 500 and came third in the country.  He shared the third rank along with Sowmya Uppal of Haryana.

In the differently-abled category, Mudita Jagota, a student from DAV Public School, Faridabad, is the topper with 485 marks

In a statement, the CBSE said that for the second year, CBSE has declared results of all ten regions on the same day.
