    Apple CEO Tim Cook on Saturday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a unique gift in the form of an updated version of the Narendra Modi mobile app which he launched during the meeting.

    Cook said that Apple would remain in India for the next 1,000 years and was all praise for Modi’s vision for ease of doing business which is likely to unbound the immense potential of young India.

    Sharing future plans of Apple Inc’s with the Prime Minister, he said there were endless possibilities for manufacturing and retailing in India. 

    Appreciating the breadth of young talent in India, he said the youth have significant skills which Apple would like to tap. 

    Cook, who is currently visiting India to explore new avenues, also mentioned the immense potential for ‘app-development’ that exists in the country and elaborated on the Map Development Centre that Apple Inc is setting up in Hyderabad. 

    Both Cook and the Prime Minister shared some unique stories of entrepreneurship that they had come across in app-development and renewable energy. 

    Cook also appreciated the Prime Minister’s initiatives for renewable energy. He said Apple runs on 93 per cent renewable energy, and spoke of plans to move Apple’s entire supply chain to renewable energy. 

    Highlighting e-education, health and increasing farmers’ incomes as the three key objectives of ‘Digital India’ Modi explained his initiative.
