Youth held for molesting 100-year-old woman

The victim was alone in the house in Galegaon village when the perpetrator carried out the crime. Both the victim and the accused are residents of the same locality.

On Wednesday, around 2:30 am the accused, Akshay Borade, entered the victim’s house and tried to disrobe  her, police said. When she raised an alarm the youth escaped from the scene before neighbours could nab him. The accused was absconding since Wednesday. Meanwhile, the victim approached the police and lodged a complaint.

The police registered a case and were on the lookout for the Akshay. Police were able to trace the youth to a house in the village and arrested him on Saturday. He was arrested under sections 354 and 451 of the IPC, they added. Police is conducting further investigation.
