India will go for zero effect and zero defect technology- Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said India will go for a technology in the coming days which will be affordable and sustainable with both zero effect and zero defect.
Dedicating the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) here this morning, Mr Modi said, "We should bring such a technology which will have no side effect on the environment, climate, global warming and also on the society."
The products of this new technology will also have zero defect which will be accepted not only in the country but also all over the world, Mr Modi said.
The Prime Minister cited the innovation of the LED bulb as an example of affordable and sustainable technology which will save and conserve the energy to a great extent.
He said, "We have MoUs in 100 cities in the country where the LED bulb will be used for street lights and also in the household and in the process, we could save nearly 20,000 MW of power and solve the energy problem.
Describing the solar energy as the new source of energy, the Prime Minister said, the biggest challenge us was how to reserve the solar energy so that it will serve the mankind.
He said, there are 122 countries in the world where the solar energy is available for nearly 300 days in a year.
He asked the students of the NISER to take a pledge to make the NISER campus as the most greenery campus in the country and create an environment for innovation stating that life will come to a halt in the absence of innovation.
Odisha Govenor SC Jamir, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Juel Orama and Dharmendra Pradhan were among others present at the function.
The Prime Minister left for Puri to have have darshan of Lord Jagannath, his eleder brother Lord Balavadra and their sister Devi Subhadra from where he will fly to Paradip to dedicate the Rs.35,000 crore state of the art Paradip Oil Refinery set up by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
