Fog disrupts train services in Northern part of India

Trains of the North Western Railway were running late due to dense fog in Rajasthan and its adjoining states as cold conditions prevailed there with Churu recording the lowest temperature of 3.4 degrees Celsius last night, an MeT official said.
Of the nine trains, Howrah-Sriganganagar is running late by 4 hrs 10 minutes, Howrah-Jodhpur is delayed by 2 hrs 10 minutes and Sealdah-Ajmer train by 2 hrs 25 minutes, CPRO of North Western Railway Tarun Jain said.
Fog also disrupted normal life in North-Eastern parts of Rajasthan covering Dholpur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Sriganganagar, and Hanumangarh, the MeT official said.
Minimum temperature varied between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius at most places including that in Ajmer, Pilani, Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Jaisalmer, Sriganganagar, Sikar, and Bikaner while the hill station of Mount Abu recorded a low of 6 degrees Celsius last night.
No major change in weather conditions is expected during Christmas in the state, the MeT forecast said.
