The makers said that the shooting has been postponed, to ensure utmost safety, after members of the film unit tested positive during a routine check-up on the film’s set in Hyderabad during the last week of December, Meanwhile, the rest of the crew members too were seen returning home from Hyderabad.

Reports now have revealed that the Superstar is likely to resume his shooting for the movie after the Tamil Nadu elections. Even though Rajinikanth tested negative for Covid-19 during the shoot, his health faced setbacks after he suffered severe blood pressure fluctuations.

With barely 4-5 months left for elections, there were rumours that the film would resume shoot next month, however Rajinikanth had informed the production team that he might be able to join the sets only post-election. Eventually, the entire shoot has been postponed to the month of June, for the superstar to join the sets.

Directed by Siruthai Siva, Annaatthe has Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Khushbu Sundar and Meena as the leading ladies, while Prakash Raj will be seen in a crucial role.

Soori and Sathish will be seen in key roles. Touted to be a rural drama, the film’s shooting was going at a brisk pace at Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City until the pandemic struck.
