Trending in TN: Big B gets trolled, Saddam Hussein’s yacht being repurposed and Ekta Kapoor’s response to petrol price

Big B questions cake and candles in birthday celebrations, gets trolled
Actor Amitabh Bachchan got trolled badly after he recently questioned the Westernised practice of using cakes and candles in Indian birthday celebrations. “Why this cake? Why this candle? And why the songs?” the veteran actor wondered in a tweet. Responding to it, a Twitter user said, “Sir if you really do not like this thn aaradhya ke birthday ki grand celebration kyu?” Another user said, “Can you please tell this gentleman that he also cuts a cake on his birthday every year?”
Saddam Hussein’s former luxury yacht  being repurposed into a hotel for pilots
The luxurious “Basrah Breeze”, which was never used by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, is set to become a hotel for pilots in the country’s busiest port of Basra. Though the 82-metre vessel was built for him in 1981, Saddam never used it since it was always away from home. After he was toppled in 2003, successive Iraqi governments have been trying to put the ship to use. Among other uber-luxury features, the vessel is equipped with a presidential suite, dining rooms and bedrooms, as well as 17 smaller guest rooms, 18 cabins for crew and a clinic. An earlier attempt to sell the ship for $30 million found no takers.

Ekta Kapoor’s response to petrol price hike fails to amuse Twitterati
Producer Ekta Kapoor’s opinion on the rising petrol and diesel prices has not found favour with Twitterati. When asked about the fuel price spike recently, she said, “Even if petrol prices are at its highest, men will take women for drives & in today’s time, women will take men for drives. This isn’t the movie that you’re going to stop watching as at this time you need to spend less on driving & more in theatre.” This didn’t go down well among social media users as they trolled her. A twitter user said, “But how will we reach the theatre? Are you providing free transport? I don’t have money for petrol and so can’t drive to the theatre to watch your movies.”
