Piyush Goyal schooled for tweeting fake photos
In the era of fake news, Twitterati is taking a step ahead whenever politicians are using fake information and photographs to befool the audience. The recent tweet by Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on BJP fulfilling the ‘electrification’ promise got Twitterati talking soon after he posted two pictures labelled as ‘before’ and ‘after’ the electrification was done. “Under the decisive leadership of PM @NarendraModi India has finally been able to electrify all its villages before the set target date,” the Minister posted on social media. Twitter users were quick to school him this time, saying that the pictures he posted were actually very old images released by NASA. Many criticised the government for using fake news to fool the citizens of India.
Mahindra chairman offers cobbler a workspace
According to the Chairman of the Mahindra group, this roadside cobbler is fit to ‘teach at the premier management institutes’. Anand Mahindra, who had received a picture showing a cobbler sitting in front of a poster which claimed the ‘shoe doctor’ could cure injured shoes, posted the picture on Twitter. The billboard also mentioned the cobbler’s name as ‘Dr Nasseeram’. The Mahindra group located the cobbler. “Our team in Haryana met him and asked how we could help. Instead of asking for money, he said he needed a good workspace. I asked our Design Studio team from Mumbai to design a kiosk that was functional and yet aesthetic,” tweeted the Chairman.
