Twitter slams KJo, actors for ‘nepotism rocks’ remark
Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan and Saif Ali Khan have been drawing a lot of criticism online after their celebration of nepotism at IIFA 2017.

The three raked up the much-talked about incident where Kangana Ranaut branded Karan Johar the “flagbearer of nepotism” on his chat show. Saif quipped that Varun had made it big in the industry because of his father, director David Dhawan.
Varun retorted, “And you’re here because of your mummy (veteran actress Sharmila Tagore).” Karan too chipped in, “I am here because of my papa (late filmmaker Yash Johar).” And the three said in unison, “Nepotism rocks.” Later, Varun started singing Bole Chudiyan, Bole Kangana… and Karan said, “It’s better if Kangana doesn’t talk. She talks too much.”
Twitter unleashed a string of criticism against the trio calling the act immature and disappointing. Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi tweeted, “I’d like to see them try their nepotism humour when Kangana is in their presence.”
Standup comedian Aditi Mittal wrote, “How is it an “insult” to Kangana? If anything, it’s a crass/tacky display of how shamelessly nepotistic Bollywood IS.”
