What is the main idea behind Style Bazaar?

We wanted to get everything related to ‘style’ under one roof across all range of products. Secondly, there were many small designers, manufacturers and entrepreneurs who had great products but could not showcase due to various reasons including cost factor of the available stores and the limited platforms. So, this initiative was born to create a brand that bridged the gap.

How different is this year’s exhibition from the earlier editions?

Every year, we have at least 10 to 15 designers. This year we’ve revamped big time with a whole new array of designs across home décor, jewellery and fashion including interesting attempts like Kalamkari in denims and more. We have as many as 35 designers, who’ve not featured in Chennai, lined up.

How has the response to this initiative changed over the years?

There was a misconception that designer exhibitions and clothes are only meant for people in Mumbai and Delhi, catering to a very niche crowd. However, through Style Bazaar we’ve changed the narrative. Anyone and everyone who walks in has something to buy. The environment is also changing. People are more into parties and going out these days. The dressing requirement is also changing which has resulted in the footfall to the exhibition increasing tremendously.
