External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is one of the most followed world leaders on Twitter, with over eight million followers. Yet, she is well known for her timely response to SOS tweets coming from Indians abroad in conflict zones facing visa or passport issues.

On Thursday, however, she received a different kind of SOS tweet from a twitterati, Karan Saini. Tagging Sushama, Karan tweeted, “I am stuck on Mars. Food sent via Mangalyaan (987 days ago) is running out. When is Mangalyaan-II being sent? @ ISRO.” The minister was quick to respond with the tweet, “Even if you are stuck on the Mars, Indian Embassy there will help you.” The sassy response was retweeted over 9,000 times and liked over 22,000 times in just nine hours.
