‘I grew up on the sets of Californication’
American TV shows and actors have huge fan following in India undoubtedly. Madeleine Martin who has created a huge impact with her characters of Rebecca ‘Becca’ Moody in Californication and Disney’s Out of the Box spoke to DTNext from New York.

“I am glad to know that most of the viewer response come from India. It is such a heart-warming thing that TV shows and movies have broken the barriers to a huge extent.”
Tell her that it was her show Californication that made her a known face limelight across the globe, she smiles and says, “I grew up on the sets of Californication. I transformed from a kid to a girl as Rebecca for six seasons and I am glad about it. It was a huge learning curve as my character in real life is contrasting to what I am in Californication”.
Madeleine who is also a voiceover artist has lent her voice for several roles in the famous Ice Age: The Meltdown says that she doesn’t mind juggling across various facets as she always feels she belongs to Television and movies. “I have been doing this ever since I was a kid. So this doesn’t come across to me as a pressure at all. I enjoy being in this community,” she says.
The actress who has also played an important role in the movie Legendary says she is thankful to her parents for being supportive of her career. “They have always supported me and let me learn the art of theatre and movies.” The actress says she is currently focussing on theatre and has enrolled herself in The American School of Ballet. “Regardless of how many movies I do in the future, my heart belongs to television shows,” she concludes.
