Salsa, Jazz by the shore
A gala evening to celebrate the third edition of the Latin Festival Madras and Kizomba Conference was held in the city, recently. Artists and visitors from across the globe, mostly dressed in casual red ensembles, partied through the evening, shaking a leg to salsa and jazz music on the Covelong beach.

Artists engaged the crowd with variations of kizomba and bachata, consla, acro jam and lifts and tricks. Popular performers at the do included Alex Teodorescu from Romania, Julia Pauer from Austria, Ellicia McDonald from Australia, Dotty Ujszaszi from Hungary, Dj’s like Ajad Wakitani from Japan, Selvakumar from Malaysia and Gupson Pierre from Canada, among others.Â
The festival, that brings together dancers from various parts of the world, to tap their toes and sway their hips to the tunes of Latin music, witnessed more than 20 dance workshops by international artists, two choreography boot camps, pool parties, surfing and more.
