Tell us about the upcoming festival

We are organising this festival in association with Royal Norwegian Embassy, New Delhi and Royal Norwegian Consulate, Chennai from September 26 to 28. We have a beautiful selection of films that will definitely be a window to the less-explored terrains and culture of Norway. Films like I am Yours, The Liverpool Goalie, Ploddy the police car on the case and others are great and deserve to be seen by cinema-lovers in the city.

How are films from Norway different?

I believe good cinema from each and every country deserves to be praised and showcased. Films from Norway have never really had a chance to reach a large audience. They are nice films about love, hope and mirror society.

What is the main idea behind conducting these festivals?

Every country conducts them and some cities are known for popular international film festivals. We wanted to make Chennai one of them and started ICAF in a humble way in 2003. The idea is to initiate people to parallel cinema and showcase the technical excellence of film making in other countries to our aspiring filmmakers and cinematographers.
