The month of Ramzan is about discipline and patience but when it comes to the food, everyone in the city — regardless of them fasting or not, get together to get a taste of scrumptious Ramzan delights, served in the evening while breaking the fast. Among the various places in the city, Triplicane comes alive to familiar sights and aroma of delicious food in the evening. On a Friday evening, food enthusiasts took a stroll down the area as a part of the food walk hosted by The Park hotel.
Starting from the Big mosque in the area, the group went to popular haunts like Haleem Wala, Al Elaf, Charminar Biryani, Shahi Halwa, Mr. Baker and Soda Shop. And they weren’t disappointed. Starting off with the nombu kanji and vadas at the mosque, the food enthusiasts went on to have a bowl of rich haleem topped with caramelised onions, melt-in-mouth shammi kebabs , filling shawarma rolls, tandoori chicken and kuboos and the famous biriyani from Charminar.
Those with a sweet tooth, devoured the absolutely sinful dum ka rot and ande ki mithai . And finally the walk ended with a glass of flavoured soda to quench thirst after engaging in pure gluttony. The evening made the foodies probably pile on quite a few kilos, nevertheless they came back extremely satiated.
