The Tech Mahindra-funded MAAS (MicroGrid as a Service) has entered into a strategic collaboration with SAP to develop a citizen platform, CAPE - Community Action Plan for energy, a TechM statement said.

The platform will empower city councils and local stakeholders to target communities to engage and deliver predictable energy and cost savings needed to meet the UK’s

    2020 energy saving targets.

It will combine energy, satellite, aerial, social and economic data to deliver targeted insights, the statement, which comes in the midst of a focus on making Indian cities smarter, said.

SAP's vice president for Internet of Things and customer innovation Lalit Canaran said projects like CAPE are driving changes which reshape the way an industry operates and added that TechM's expertise and SAP's platform will be used as part of the collaboration.

TechM's head of innovation Sirisha Vorunganti welcomed the move by SAP to join hands, saying its strong platform capabilities in cloud, analytics, social collaboration, mobility and strong integration capabilities to digital core and big data will be of help.

The Mahindra group company announced the tie-up during an annual innovation conclave in Hyderabad, which started today.
