The film begins with Lakshmi (Ditya Bande) dancing as she gets out of her bed, and the whistles begin right from the moment she appears on the big screen.
The kid’s mother Nandini (Aishwarya Rajesh) restrains her daughter from developing her interest towards dance, even though she herself was a dancer before. Lakshmi dances in her school, on the street and even in front of coffee shop as she listens to music.
The coffee shop is owned by Prabhudheva, who helps Lakshmi enrol in a dance school, in order to participate in the Pride of India competition, which is Lakshmi’s dream. These scenes make for an interesting first half.
The second half is equally good. Especially, the scene where the kids dance with Prabhudheva without music. Nirav Shah’s breath-taking visuals complement their dance. Sam’s music makes Lakshmi a musical as well. Aishwarya Rajesh, as usual, plays her part to perfection. However, we would have loved to see her dance in the film.
Prabhudheva and Ditya steal the show in the climax with their dancing and acting skills. Kovai Sarala’s comedy is average while Karunakaran makes us laugh now and then. Overall, Lakshmi will make us get up and dance and leaves a smile on your face as you leave the theatre.
