Jhanvi Kapoor loves to play pranks in the gym

She looks like a million bucks almost every single day but it’s not easy being Jhanvi Kapoor! The 21-year-old, who is all set for her debut film Dhadak , can often be spotted hitting the gym; well, having a body that can flaunt all her favourite designer Manish Malhotra’s clothes must take some effort.

A video of her joking with her gym trainer about how to get a six-pack in five minutes went viral when it was posted — but she only wishes it were that easy.  It takes a healthy diet and well-planned exercises to get and stay fit, she says.

Her mornings begin with her downing two glasses of water on an empty stomach, for it has been proven as a great detox method. Breakfast is a must, feels the youngster, so she loads up on a healthy selection of eggs, bread or oats. Keeping in mind that exercising an hour before or after a meal is not recommended, after a break, she hits the gym twice a week.

Cardio and weight lifting forms part of her workout routine. The bubbly actress can get bored easily of monotonous workouts so she spruces it up with playing pranks in the gym or literally jumping around! She can be seen video-bombing her fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala’s video at the gym, where she joins in to practice a few jumping exercises. For lunch, she goes the traditional way and loves ghar ka khana, especially dal chawal.

In an earlier interview with DTNext, a lifestyle therapist said hat instead of blindly following fads, people must stick to eating what their families have been used to for generations.

“These are the only food groups that your body will accept easily, as opposed to other kinds,” she said. In the evenings, often, Jhanvi can be seen going for a run or she even likes to swim, admits the actress. She probably got most of her fitness tips from mom (late) Sridevi, who remained in great shape always.

Jhanvi’s day ends with a simple dinner that’s easy for the body to digest like soup or salad. According to her, in addition to the above, they key to remaining fit is to:

  • Go for walks every day wearing the right kind of footwear.
  • Avoid consuming alcoholic  beverages.
  • Sugar is a bigger enemy than carbs so avoid that and junk food.
  • At least eight glasses of water a day are a must.
