Carrying the theme of the vicious, social issue — bonded labour, that is still prevalent, Myna will unravel the emotions and turmoil of a poverty-stricken family who are forced to trade their unborn child as collateral for money. The show will be telecast every Monday to Friday at 8.30 pm.
With the families facing harsh realities of power-play and struggles to endure their everyday labour, Myna is born as a promise of freedom. Born into a system of injustice and enslavement, the intriguing story trails Myna’s resilience and courage to take on the antagonist, Singaperumal, a local political honcho and a wealthy landlord in her own charming free-spirited manner.Nithyanandan, director of the show, says, “Myna is the story of not just one child but many who struggle to break free from the shackles of bonded labour in a modern world. The show with its powerful story line will take the audience on a journey filled with resonating emotions of courage and conviction to fight injustice. Myna’s rebellious yet delightful nature in her battle with Singaperumal is sure to strike a chord with the audience. We are confident that the show will break free from the clutter and offer an inspiring story of survival and hope.”
Along with Divyadarshini, who plays the seven-year-old Myna, the show will feature a stellar line-up of artists including Vishwaroopam fame, Mukthar Khan, who plays the antagonist Singaperumal, Tamil TV actor Ranjith as Kanthasamy, Myna’s father and Sreevani as Kasturi, Myna’s mother.
