Creatively promoting environment conservation, a beach bar in Goa offers free drinks to customers in exchange of 10 beer bottle caps or 20 used cigarette butts!
Drishti Marine - a private beach management agency–roped in by the State Tourism Ministry, worked on the ‘waste bar’ idea. The first pop-up waste bar was set up in Zanzibar shack on the popular Baga beach. The initiative kicked off on January 30, and is being hailed as a ‘win-win’ idea by tourists and netizens alike.

Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, known for charming his followers on Twitter with the occasional witty tweet, struck again, this time, with a caption contest for his followers. He even announced gifts for the winners! Promising Mahindra Collectibles, he posted a picture of a road sign that read “Bibi, two kms,” and asked followers to come up with clever captions. Though his favourites are yet to be announced, the popular ones were, “Objects in the milestones are closer than they appear” and “An accidental milestone” which received tonnes of likes and retweets.
Video of little boy blowing up manhole goes viral, sparks concerns about safety
In a video that has received thousands of shares shows a little boy narrowly escaping death as he sets flame to fireworks placed underneath a manhole, after which it blasts quite powerfully! Shopkeepers nearby, on hearing the loud noise, ran out to find out what cause the sound and were shocked to see that the nearly a two-metre radius around the manhole had been destroyed. Though the boy ran away in the nick of time, folks on the internet are not happy about the incident that could have grievously injured innocent bystanders.
