    A heart-warming campaign has Indian cricketers Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane, questioning various societal stereotypes that hold women back, by sporting jerseys with their mothers’ names instead of their own names or father’s surnames.

    It intends to acknowledge the fact that one derives one’s identity as much from one’s mother as from one’s father. Titled Nayi Soch , the campaign includes three brand films and it is jointly launched by BCCI and Star Plus. The campaign is built around real life examples from the lives of these three icons, and the philosophy on how they are, what they are, in large part because of their mothers. In the ad campaign, Captain Cool Dhoni, replies in his usual calm demeanour, when questioned by a reporter, if there is a special occasion for wearing his mother’s name, “ Itne dino se main apne pita ka naam pehen raha, tab to aap ne kabhi nahi poocha ki koi khaas wajah (I have been wearing my dad’s name for so many years but nobody asked me if it was for a special occasion)?” The campaign has earned accolades from people across the country and is trending on social media.
