Traffic diversions in Chennai for Tirupati Thirukudai Padayatra

About 10,000 persons are expected to participate in the procession, according to an official release. To avoid traffic congestion, traffic diversions will be in effect from 10 am till end of the event.

CHENNAI: Chennai City traffic police have announced traffic diversions on Sunday to facilitate the Tirupati Thirukudai Padayatra Procession to be conducted by the Hindu Dharmartha Samithi Trust.

About 10,000 persons are expected to participate in the procession, according to an official release. To avoid traffic congestion, traffic diversions will be in effect from 10 am till end of the event.

Accordingly, there will be no vehicular movement on NSC Bose Road, Mint Road and its connecting roads from 8 am till the procession crosses Wall Tax Road. Motorists can use EVR Road, Rajaji Road, Wall Tax Road, Basin Bridge Road and Prakasam Road.

From 3 pm till the procession crosses Basin Bridge, no vehicles will be allowed on Wall tax road and its connecting roads. Motorists can use Basin Bridge road, Mint via Prakasam Road or Rajaji road and EVR road, Muthuswamy road and Rajaji road.

Once the procession reaches Moolakothalam area, vehicles are not allowed on Basin Bridge top. Motorists can use Rajaji Road, EVR Road and Dr.Ambedkar College Road.

When Thirupathi Thirukodai procession reaches Demellows Point, vehicle coming from Choolai roundabout will be diverted towards Choolai High Road and Raja Muthiah Salai.

When the procession approaches Choolai Roundana the vehicle coming from Mosque point will be diverted at VH Road x Sydenams Road towards Vepery High Road.

When the procession enters Choolai High Road, the vehicle coming from Narayana guru Salai will be diverted at Hunters Road Junction towards EVK Sampath Road.

When the procession reaches Avadhana Papiya Road, the vehicle coming from AP Road x PB Road will be diverted at AP Road and PB Road Jn towards Doveton.

When the procession enters Perambur Barracks Road, the vehicle coming from Doveton Junction towards Perambur Barracks Road will be diverted at Doveton Junctionn towards Narayana Guru Salai.

When the procession reaches near Ottery Bridge, the vehicle coming from Millers road x Bricklin road junction towards Ottery Bridge will be diverted towards Purasawalkam High Road.

When the procession reaches Konnur 1 Point, the vehicle coming from Ottery Bridge, Medavakkam Tank Road and ICF Junction towards Konnur 1 Point will be diverted from Otteri bridge towards Cooks Road, from ICF Junction towards New Avadi Road and from MVT Road and VP Colony Junction towards VP Colony (South).
