CHENNAI: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday received grievance petitions from policemen under "Ungal Thuraiyil Muthalamaichar" (CM in your department) scheme, at the office of Director General of Police (DGP).

The Chief Minister visited the DGP office and planted a sapling in the premises following which he appreciated DGP C Sylendra Babu while registering his entry at the visitor's note. "It gives me immense pleasure in listening to the grievances of the policemen and meeting police officials in the DGP office. I appreciate policemen for standing by the words 'policemen are friends of the public' which upholds the principles of social justice, equality and human ideologies. I appreciate all the policemen starting from DGP to all other policemen who stand for maintaining law and order."

Stalin wrote in the visitors note.

While receiving the grievance petitions, the Chief Minister interacted with the policemen and obtained the feedback on how the system of week offs are functioning for policemen in CLAPP, the app in which the policemen can directly apply for leave.
