Man who landed at Chennai airport goes missing; probe under way

Police said Manikandan had called and informed his wife Kavya that he would be reaching the house in the morning. Since he did not arrive for a long time, Kavya had tried calling him but his mobile phone was not reachable.

CHENNAI: A 35-year-old man who arrived in Chennai from Dubai on Monday morning went missing mysteriously. The airport police have registered a case and are investigating.

Manikandan of Kovilambakkam was working in Dubai for the past two years. On Monday early morning, Manikandan arrived at the Chennai airport on the Fly Dubai airlines. Police said Manikandan had called and informed his wife Kavya that he would be reaching the house in the morning. Since he did not arrive for a long time, Kavya had tried calling him but his mobile phone was not reachable.

Later, Kavya visited the Chennai airport and when checked with the airport manager they found that Manikandan had reached Chennai in the early morning and went outside from the airport. After checking with the friends and relatives, on Tuesday, Kavya filed a missing complaint in the airport police station. The police have registered a case and are searching for Mainkandan with the help of CCTV and mobile phone signals.
